Locally Adapted
Queens, Nucs,
and Honey.

Selected for calm temperament, strong brood patterns, and real-world performance in Union County.

Our Approach

Better bees start with
better genetics and
better management.

Lucky Bee Apiary is a working apiary in Monroe, NC focused on raising quality queens, strong nucleus colonies, and local honey. We emphasize locally adapted genetics, calm temperament, and practical colony performance — the traits that actually matter to beekeepers managing hives in our region.

We are actively building toward a long-term breeding program focused on improving local bee genetics in Union County and surrounding areas.

Local Genetics

Italian and Carniolan stock refined with Golden West Queen genetics — selected specifically for North Carolina conditions.

Calm Temperament

Bees that stay workable on the comb. Selected, not assumed.

Colony Strength

Strong brood patterns, steady growth, and real-world performance in our apiary.

Sustainable Growth

Our long-term goal is strengthening local bee stocks through quality queen rearing, responsible expansion, and a commitment to better breeding over time.

Not Resold. Not Outsourced.

All queens and nucs are raised and managed in our own apiary. Every colony is evaluated based on real performance — brood quality, temperament, and productivity — before it ever reaches a customer.

Our Story

A working apiary.
A long-term mission.
A genuine love for the craft.

Lucky Bee Apiary was built around a simple goal — raise better bees for our area. It started in 2017 with curiosity. A husband and wife became completely fascinated by honey bees: their biology, their complexity, the incredible role they play in our ecosystem. What began as a deep interest became a commitment.

Everything you see here — every hive inspection, every queen we raise, every jar of honey we bottle — is managed by the same two people who started this from scratch. When you call us, you're talking to the beekeeper.

We are intentionally building toward a breeding program that improves local stock over time — selecting for productivity, manageability, and resilience in our local conditions.
